A Day for Kids
This past event was a kid’s fun day at state park, sponsored by The Friends of the Indiana Dunes. The event included face painters, hayrides, live entertainment, educational booths, apple cider pressing, Smokey Bear, and more.
Beach Glass Jewelry Workshops
Members learned wire wrapping techniques and created their own jewelry pieces to take home.
Spirit Faces- Wood carving workshops to create your own spirit faces.
The Friends of the Indiana Dunes have supported (volunteer and financial) for both the National Lakeshore’s Maple Sugar Days and Duneland Harvest Festival.
Raising Funds by Hiking!
The friends sponsored a hike-athon in the past where participants collected pledges that fundraised for the Friends of the Indiana Dunes this coincided with National Trails Day.
Making Trail Tags
Friends of the Indiana Dunes made Trail Tags, that were sold to raise funds. They also designed trail tag button style pins that could attach to shirts, hats, coats. A new design was made each year.
